Cris Dobbins, a native of Colorado, attended Englewood Public Schools and graduated from the University of Denver. In 1915, Dobbins began a lifelong business and personal relationship with the Boettcher family when he took a part-time position in Charles Boettcher's Colorado Portland Cement Company.
