Cris Dobbins, a native of Colorado, attended Englewood Public Schools and graduated from the University of Denver. In 1915, Dobbins began a lifelong business and personal relationship with the Boettcher family when he took a part-time position in Charles Boettcher's Colorado Portland Cement Company. He steadily advanced in the company to the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager in 1948. In 1952, the Board elected him President.
